Damaged still I purchased

Im trying to make the best out of a bad situation with a copper still I purchased online.

Apparently the guy I bought from is not very legit. Waited 6 months for an order he said he could complete in 6 weeks.

When I received the there was damage to the top of the pot. I've tried without response, for help from the vendor.

What i am trying to find out is, should I be able to bend the damaged copper back in shape, that it will seal sufficiently?

Also, with this type still, does the seal between the pot and the pipe that connects to the top of the pot need to be air tight. Will it need to be pressure type?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

In principle you should be able to repair the damage with a flat-nose pliers and a rubber hammer. The connection should be air tight. There will be no overpressure inside the device while you're distilling, so no need for pressure proof.
